We all know that when wearing waders it is a good idea to wear a wading belt, however in the grand tradition of capitalism, someone is always going to try to build a better moustrap. William and Joseph have indeed built that better mousetrap......or wading belt in this case.
Ordinary wading belts are inexpensive, plain and serve their intended purpose. The William Joseph Wading Belt/Stripping basket is a product that truely does improve on an origional concept and offers some very positive features that, I think, greatly justify the increase in price from a standard wading belt, and also andvantages over other stripping baskets on the market.
First off, the belt is comfortable, with a wide band that has adequate padding as to not "dig In" to your waist line (especially handy if you happen to be like me and carry a little...okay alot...of extra gut.)
The utility loops that line the sides of the belt have come in very handy to me for multiple different applications. Two applications that I have used are hooking on a Bogo Grip, (usefull for pike and great for carp), and attaching a pouch for a collapsible wading staff, and also a great place for the Bear spray!
The best feature of the belt is the retractable stripping basket.
I have been very thankfull for this on numerous occasions. Most commonly I use the basket when stalking carp on the banks of the Missouri river in Bismarck. The very fine sand that lines the shores can play havoc on the stripping guides of you fly rod and absolutely destroy your fly line, if nothing else diminish the performance of your equipment.
With the retractible basket deployed I can stalk and sneak the sandy shores with out worrying about the damage done to my line.
Unlike most other stripping baskets, that are very bulky and combursome, the William Joseph design is both, usefull and convienient.
I do recommend this wading belt as a tool that can greatly enhance your angling experience and also protect your very expensive fly lines.

For many of us the process of first acquing a fly rod was something that either seemed that we could never afford or the quality of the product we could afford was so poor we were laughed off the water when the equipment was deployed.
These days the options for quality rods at affordable prices are much greater and Temple Fork Outfitters have come up with a product that blows the ferrules off the competition!!!
I have personally cast an used a number of the different models that Temple Fork currently has on the market and I whole heartily endorse the product as a top quality rod for a very affordable price.
Another BIG BIG plus of these rods is a LIFETIME warranty, which is something some rods costing over twice as much don't even offer.
I had the chance to speak with the President of the company at the GREAT WATERS FLY FISHING EXPO in Minneapolis this past March, and he was a very interested in our fishing up here and was willing to talk at length about the product and the differences of the models, including suggestions as to what would work best in the stillwater fisheries we frequent.
Temple Fork offers a variety of different Models with each having a specific type of action:
Lefty Kreh Signature Series rods offer astounding performance from a medium fast action rod. This is a perfect first fly rod with performance that will impress even a master fly caster.
This is my new favorite rod, it is hands down one of the best rods avaiable today, not only for the money but one of the best Period, and I have casted them all.
If someone offered to give me either a free TFO proffessional rod or a $650 "major" name maker....I'd take the $650 rod, sell it, and buy 5 TFO proffesional rods !!!!
The 3wt would be an ideal rod for bluegill, light enough to be "electric" while fighting the fish but also capable of launching line in a breeze.
The 6 wt. is my main rod and I have found it capable of laying out 100 feet no problem, and I have used it to cast sinking lines up to type seven with no problem .
I reccomend this rod to all levels of Fly Fishers! With a price tag under $150 fly fisher can afford this rod and the gas to get to the water!!
This is a god I have used with a bit more reservations, in the right hands it can cast the marked line faster than snot through a goose but i like to up the line wt at least one and it seems to be a great rod in close.
I have the 6wt and frequently will line it with a 7wt sinking line and have had fun casting small pike flies with it, it is deffinetly making the trip to the Parkland this year!
Other TFO models available:
Dakota Tackle in Bismarck now carries the entire TFO lineup and has a great display and will let you cast a rod, Stop in and see Wade or Rich for a Great Fly Casting Experience!!!
